JBF Takes Wellness Education to Carthage Elementary
JBF Takes Wellness Education to Carthage Elementary
The Joe Burrow Foundation returned to Carthage Elementary School in Cincinnati with its Healthy Body Healthy Mind campaign on Tuesday, December 16. Healthy Body Healthy Mind brings engaging wellness education and fresh food directly to students in a joyful, interactive setting.

The event was held in the school’s cafeteria. Foundation Secretary and Treasurer, Robin Burrow, guided students through important lessons that focused on sleep, exercise, nutrition, and mental health. Building on prior Healthy Body Healthy Mind lessons, Mrs. Burrow introduced a new lesson centered on balancing emotions. Students learned positive, calming strategies to regulate their emotions, including the “senses method”, which encourages mindfulness through sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste.
Students were engaged throughout the presentation, raising their hands to answer questions and cheering enthusiastically for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Their excitement and curiosity filled the room, reinforcing how impactful interactive learning can be.

Students participated in a taste-testing experience, sampling a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables including yellow bell peppers, cucumbers, green apples, and blueberries. These hands-on moments helped students explore new foods while learning about healthy choices in a fun and approachable way.
Following the presentation students received Burrow Bags filled with fresh produce generously provided through the Foundation’s partnership with Kroger. Each bag included green apples, cucumbers, bananas, yellow squash, yellow bell peppers, blueberries, and a recipe featuring one of Joe’s favorite meals. Students were encouraged to take the produce home and practice healthy habits with their families.

Volunteers from Lowe’s Home Improvement played an essential role in the event, assisting with produce preparation and helping distribute Burrow Bags to students. Their support ensured the day ran smoothly.
The Joe Burrow Foundation is deeply grateful to the teachers, staff, volunteers, and partners who made this event possible. Together, their commitment helped create a positive, uplifting experience that empowered students to care for their bodies and minds.
