Participate in World Teen Mental Wellness Day
bi3, Interact for Heath and The Joe Burrow Foundation are partnering together to ask high school students to develop and participate in activities commemorating World Teen Mental Wellness Day.
World Teen Mental Wellness Day is observed annually to raise awareness for the mental health issues teenagers face daily, promote mental wellness and determine solutions. While the Global Day will be held on Saturday, March 2, students will be encouraged to plan events on March 1 while schools are in session.
Mental health struggles, especially anxiety and depression, are common in teenagers. However, findings show that stigma prevents many teens from seeking help. Many don’t know the resources available in their own schools and communities, and too few know how to engage in self-care.
bi3 is teaming up with Interact for Health and The Joe Burrow Foundation to provide high school students up to $500 per school to engage fellow students in mental wellness. All high school students in the Greater Cincinnati region are eligible and only need to fill out a simple application form that can be accessed at https://bi3.org/teenmentalhealth.
Last year, funding supported students from 11 area high schools to create wellness rooms, host speakers and promote awareness of resources like the National 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline.
One application per school is allowed and must be signed by the principal. The final deadline for applications is February 1, 2024.
